As regards the last year, as from September 15, 2008, the number of passengers flying from Ukraine to Dalaman Airport increased 77% and the number of passengers from Russia increased up to 21%.
ATM general Manager, Hamdi GÜVENÇ , explained that especially General Directorate of Tourism and Muğla Governorate and civilian high officials of Muğla, the authorities of the Ministry of Tourism, the organizations of tourism professions in the region and the tourism attaches in Russia and Ukraine performed all their energies and experiences in order to attract more tourists to Muğla.
He emphasized that fewer tourists arrived in Dalaman before and now as a result of this cooperation, crowded groups from Russia and Ukraine markets started to arrive in Dalaman.

explained in the statement he gave in the welcoming ceremony that they had been actively busy for a long time in order to improve the regional tourism and that they started off the season fast; and he added that they had the chance to introduce the beauties of Dalaman region to the tourism authorities, tour operators and press of these countries in the introductions performed in Russia and Ukraine where they regarded as the target markets and also he said that their efforts started to bear fruit.
He also expressed that their active efforts for developing the market since the last two years resulted in success through the first agreement signed with EasyJet and that the potential went on growing speedily by means of the crowded groups arriving from Russia and Ukraine.
